take it off...

anthony worked his way out of the pink polly's last night, like a seasoned stripper -giving an amazing display of squash against some very touch competition!

unfortunately anthony's display was the only one worth mention, as neil, alistair and myself posted a total of 9, 15 and 16 points each respectively putting me as the number one contender for the pink polly's for the next encounter!

Productivity Report

So I've been unplanned the majority of this week, and my productivity in the workplace is soaring. I have managed to pull a whooping minesweeper record of 45 seconds on intermediate. This, ladies, gentlemen and bundy, is quite impressive, if I do say so myself :]

- well I thought that was impressive back then, but as our client is drawing to a close, I seem to have managed to lower that record by 5 seconds. I ratevI could even lower this by another 5, but that all depends on how exciting (or un-exciting rather ) my work is.

Quiz Night

So the villa entered a team into the Oblivion trivia night yesterday evening. Well that's about all I have to comment on the matter, other than if there are any bright, budding general knowlegerists who can actually find me an appropriate word to replace knowlegerists with, please drop me a line.

Due to our exemplary performance, the Oblivion quiz team will be taking a break over the public holidays, and are starting up again around May. That should be sufficient study time for you, attman.

A small congratulation should go to Greg for coming in the top 5, and to the blondes for tagging along.

Attman's Bday

So attman's bday came and went, no one said much and no one posted anything. How depressing is that! I went past thunda and collected a few pics of everyone I recognised in the photos. This one was definitely the cream of the crop. I don't know how attman does it, but somehow he pulls off that jason face in every pic he's in :]

Villa Wireless

So the villa is connected. Does this mean more posts? More useless information about absolutely nothing? Live webcams in attmans room? Unfortunately not.

It may however, mean more bundy.

Haha, I will have to take back my 2oceansvibe comment. They found this vid...

SA Blog Awards

So it seems the SA Blog Awards have finally been given out. In amongst the winners are a few of my favorites, top of the list being Splattermail. More of a boys site, but always a laugh and always fresh.

A friend, Mark Forrester, has claimed the award for "Best SA blog about tech" with his blog "Mark's Digital Farm". I didn't even realise he was in the competition, so this was quite a surprise.

2Oceansvibe picked up a few awards. This used to be a favorite before I discovered splattermail, then I forgot it was even around, but hey, they're still winning.

Villalife officially withdrew from the awards, mainly to give everyone else a chance. I mean, with the amount of pictures of bundy with no shirt on this site, South Africans of both gender are clogging up our lonely Telkom pipe trying to get a glimpse.

Fight Night

This Saturday is Dragon Power's fight night. They're a martial arts and fitness centre in Roeland Park in Cape Town. The place is run by local celebs Quinton and Winston Chong, who were uninvited, but nevertheless unchallenged attendees (bar maybe an impressive attempt by our own asian elite, Lee) of attman's birthday bash this last weekend. The predominant martial art is Muay Thai, which is much like kick boxing, but includes use of the elbows and knees.

If I heard correctly, there is one super heavyweight fight, 2 female fights and then a mixture of 6 more pro and amateur fights made up mainly of locals from the club. The last event was quite a jol and they usually run an after party - for those who aren't argus-sing the next morning. 2 Villa members will be attending. Guessing the event will run from around 6 till 10, tickets are available at the door or in advance from the club. Check out their site for further contact details.

Chinees people and their time machines

K this is gonna be a very random post but i can't not show you guys this... Firstly some background. How is it that the chineese people of the world seem to have WAY (WAY) to much free time on there hands?? ive seen one too many of these videos but this guy is INsane!!

if this is loading slowly, press pause and wait for it to finish (download is indicated by the thin grey bar)

Yes yes those tricks are very fancy, but can you "walk the dog"?? I didnt see that one in your little routine... ya... didnt think so...

Imagine this guy with a pair of nun chucks or something !?!?! I think you'll agree that its a good thing he chose the yo yo!

KK example no2: Check this guy... Someone pls tell me: who the HELL has time to sit and train 4 GOLDFISH to swim in formation?? seriously, im astounded... of all the random shit you could do with a day of unemployment - what posesses a man to train his goldfish. I had a few goldfish once - I thought it was quite a trick just keeping them alive...

Seriously man - at least the yoyo dude can enter competitions and maybe win some cash... what really is the point of training goldfish?

I rest my case :)

Sunday Putt Putt

So on sunday we went off to play a little putt putt. In short i put forward a relatively embarrasing performance being beaten by everyone (incl the 2 girls). Ill now proceed to lay out my excuses defense. Firstly, my endeavours of the night before left me with a curious numb front right toe (in addition to the head ache - thanks Jose) which of course left me unable to properly stablise myself. This of course stopped me from properly aquiring optimal putting angle (which as we all know is crucial).

IN ADDITION, The course itself really left much to be desired - everyone knows couse A is WAY better than course B and we of couse we were forced to play on course B. It is however seriously the most well maintained course in the world (not really - i accedently kicked one of the obsticles and it fell off ...)

Ahh i feel so much better now. After putt putt we went home and chilled and watched 3 half movies until lee decided she was over it and beamed herself home expending one of her precious 5 credits (dont ask)

Here are the scores:

o and the other team was cheating - lol im such a good sportsman :) Click for larger view

business trust long run

attman and joof headed off into the winelands last sunday afternoon courtesy of ernst & young, in order to take part in the "business trust long run" which was a corporate fundraiser.

had to attend an obligotory supper the night before on the Nuy Wine Estate which gainied momentum throughout the night, started with a few talks by "local celebrities", dawid vlok from egoli, who incidently happens to have a place in the guiness book of records for the longest non-stop nin-chucking, 120 hours, he must feel proud, but oh-so random! then mr fordyce, a.k.a comrades champ, using the last fifteen minutes of being sober to his advantage to rattle of a motavational speech...the next time i checked he was cross-eye with a napkin on his head dancing like he had a cramp going up (his) polyshorts!

had some idols in the making in our group with guidance of a idols finilist, kaisha(?), who was like a human jukebox the whole night...fellowes particulary liked it when she bashed out her rendition of "push the button"!

we stubbled out of bed the next morning, feelin the night before and edgy about our run down a national road! completed the run in fine style posting a time of 1 hour 10 minutes!

spent the rest of the morning, relaxing at the pool, and doing a winetasting at the "boutique winery" where we had been put up! all in all a good way to start a monday morning, and best of all we were being payed!

the span!

team EY!
