Gravity Adventure Festival

The Mainstream Meneers and the Shunting Munters took part in this year's Gravity Adventure Festival's Adventure Race. The race involved a number of activities including:

  • A short swim
  • White water rafting
  • Orienteering
  • A trail run
  • A river traverse
The white water was grade 4, which was considerably larger than what I'd encountered before. Needless to say, both teams capsized at the end, but I'd like to blame our incident on the team in front who managed to turn perpendicular to the flow, hit a rock and block the only way down :]

Big up to limpy for organising and providing accommodation in Hermanus on Sat. Big up to Blake for managing to complete while still recovering from his ankle injury. Loads of fun. Managed to walk away with a R 200 Spur voucher as a lucky draw prize as well. That burger went down well :>

Noon day guns

Okay, so we're still getting over winter so the idea of the vest was to get some sun. Jason covered up for the pic at least, but I'm still deciding whether vest/jersey was a better call than shirt/no shirt ;)

Mountain Men

Team Love Guns took to Hout Bay last weekend for this years Trail Run. The run can either be done solo or in a team of 3. It starts and ends at Hout Bay Yacht club and covers a distance of around 34 km. The first leg takes you up over the Karbonkelberg to Suikerbossie. The second leg then climbs up on top of Table Mountain, takes you along to the dams and then turns along the Bridal path to Constantia Nek. The third heads up and over towards Chapmans, but zigzags down to Hout Bay beach for a final run along the sand back to the Yacht club.

I was the only one who managed to get a photograph by one of the pros. I guess the other two were either looking too worse for ware, or were too focussed on their running to strut any sort of pose :]

Your's truly.

The limp dawg.

Attman, clearly running too fast for my Nokia to focus.
