attman in the US-of-A - part IV

giants vs rockies from the oracle executive suite...

last night i was invited to go and watch some baseball at AT&T park in san fran where the san francisco giants were taking on the colorado rockies. was invited to the ernst & young box in the oracle executive suite level which was amazing, food, drinks, everything included, even golden lot parking!

great evening with some entertaining baseball, watching barry bonds (the guy who broke babe ruth's record for the most amount of homeruns, and holds the record for the most amount of splash hits in san franciso, hitting the ball outta the park and into the water!) taking a few slugs!

the giants took it 9-5!

attman in the US-of-A - part III

the view from the top!
after spending four weeks of driving up into the foothills of napa valley i have been relocated and put on a new client in the city called mckesson. they are a bio-tech pharmaceutical company and are rated number 16 on the forune500, so a massive operation. for some reason they have set me up with a window desk, looking south over san francisco city, pretty much directly over union square...

new york, new york!

spent the last weekend in new york, here are some of the highlights:

1. saw jessica simpson live outside NBC studios on friday morning, ended up standing next to her dad, so we had a chat!

2. went shopping with jay a mate of mine and he introduced me to one of the judges from project runway, went shopping with him, he told me that a black cashmere sweater looked good, so i bought it!

3.stood outside flushing meadows for 2 hours trying to get tickets but alas all sold out, no tennis for me!

4.shopped, shopped and shopped, went to manhattan with one bag, came back with two, full!

5. went out for supper in the village at a peruvian restuarant and had a cocktail called a piska, was awesome!

6. went wakeboarding upstate new york, pulled a switch to regular 180 nose grab, stoked!

7. flew home with jetblue and watched direct tv (just happened to be monday night prison break) live!

attman in the US-of-A - part I

climbed halfdome over the past weekend, up in the yosemite national park!

set off on friday night straight after dark and drove 3 hours to the yosemite national park, due east from san francisco...spent the night in a dodgy motel and got up early in order to start this mammoth hike! all in all it took 11 hours, right at the end point you climb up a 45 degree sheer rock face, using garden gloves in order to hold on to the cabling that has been set up to assist you!

what a hike, amazing scenary and some seriously stiff and tired legs the next day!

living on the edge, 11000 feet up!

neil, adam and julia, just before the final ascent!

So we entered the Men's Health Hout Bay Trail run the other day. When I say 'we' I'm referring to the relatively mobile members of the villa. We were forced to sub bundy for limpy, but just as well, as you don't want a teammate experiencing heart failure high up in the mountains somewhere.

The run was absolutely awesome. It was more of a hike actually in the first leg. You can only run so far uphill, then you have to take it easy else you'll run out of steam for the rest of the race. I did the first leg, which runs from the Hout Bay yacht club up over the Koggelberg and accross to Suikerbossie. We set off at 7am.

The weather was pretty overcast and Suikerbossie was covered in thick mist. As we neared the top of the Koggelberg we ran through the cloud line. I had to shed a few layers and it was piping hot up there. There were a few queues on top for checkpoints, which allowed some time to check out the view down both sides of the mountain. The traverse was also pretty wild. We almost had to crawl along some paths to get through thick vegetation and part of the run is down the stream so the rocks are quite slipperly. Down the back of Koggelberg there were also 2 rope sections for which we had to take out time going down.

I did take over 2 hours to do my leg, which was a lot longer than expected. I was relatively unfit tho, and the queues did slow me down a bit. I think I passed on to attman at about 9:15.

Anways. Was checking out the pictures on the event which were on http://www.sports4u.co.za. Found a smashing one of this young fellow, clearly enjoying the event, and clearly posing for the camera. However, I can't seem to upload the stchupod pic for some reason. Will keep trying, maybe the issue has something to do with the work firewall.
