attman's budget 2006 - "budget-ometer"

cant make sense of the budget speech...?

by drawing a comparison to some of trevors highlights yesterday, i will attempt to demonstrate how the residents of 7 balgay court - aka the_villa - will be affected in their personal and business capacities, by the same steady progress we have come to expect and appreciated from the budget which the minister has put forward for 2006.

please note that only points affecting the residents will be noted below...

- total tax relief is good for all residents, enabling more dinner parties, appliances and increased spending on the aesthics of "the_villa"

- tax on retirment fund reductions are good news for joof, increased spending expected on that nest egg he has been hiding all these years

- transfere duty on property not such good news for #7 balgay herself, coupled with increased spending from tax relief the residents may find it easier to upgrade to a spot overlooking clifton

- offshore foriegn currency excellent news, as now all my savings sitting in zurich are legal up to 2bar, quite a way to go still

- more tax relief for small busineses sends good news to the entrepreneurial spirit housed within the walls of #7 balgay, only now we must identify the opportunity

- sin taxes hiked up again, bad news for the dinner parties, more so for the guests of future dinner parties, as they will be expected to arrive bearing wine

- expand and equip police force with up to R5,4bn, bad news for all the parties planned for #7 balgay for 2006, but good news for the neighbours as peaceful sleeps on weekend night are looking more promissing

- R7.1bn for gautrain, insignificant for #7 balgay residents, however if they can swing a stop at the bottom of the road with that colossal sum of money and pop another siding outside EY and openbox im sure we see value in this white elephant

- another 5c on road accident fund spells bad news for bundy and his A3, his cool factor could be reduced pending on the amount of time spent in his car, which will have to be reduced due to the higher cost in fuel

all in all if definetly looks as though trevor considered the residents of #7 balgay while craftly drawing up the budget for 2006, who knows, maybe its enough to tip an invite for dinner party, but bring your own wine!
